I'm very excited about todays win, but we need a "true" Middle Linebacker....Cook isn't strong enough to play this position consistantly....I've been eyeing him and he can't shed blocks, and doesn't attack the line of scrimmage well at all....

Can Arthur Brown play the middle (of course I mean in the future)...We need someone with speed, size (about 240 or so) that is tough....

I tired of seeing our middle get gashed by the run!!

Having said that we are still coming along well as a team!!!

This referee Don cherry reffed his first Miami game this year and we end up with over double the avg penalties per game.This guy should be investigated. There must have been 2 big missed calls against Virginia .And the play where the guy tackled I think Coop by the back of his shoulder pads was another missed call.

On a brighter note: It all worked out in the end. You have to be so impressed by these freshman. Has our whole recieving situation changed in a year or what.

Hats off to a defense that was tired overworked and in the past much maligned. They hung in there and might learned something about themselves in this game.

The AP and the coaches poll are two different things. Anyone who doesn't know that does not follow College Football or Basketball.

What kind of B/S is Florida being ranked 19th? They were in freaking NIT last year! Haith refuses to play them down here during the holidays which is the only time they'll play us since they are so chicken of facing our students. I was bragging all offseason that Miami would be ranked and the SCUM would not be. Why are they #19? Some explanation please?

Honestly, it's just been a crazy busy week for me. If you notice we usually have multiple posts a week on football and will again this week. You'll notice the Basketball posts were all kind of links to other stories. That having been said I think this could be the year Canes Basketball gets the crossover fans of other sports. LV is certainly right that we are being talked up in the Carolinas while the local press ignores us. DC also, when I was last there had people asking me about Canes Basketball and particularly about Dequan Jones.

I'd like a football recap here and am upset one isn't up. But seriously UM Basketball deserves more coverage than any sport at the U right now. The team is undercovered and is actually being talked about across the country where Basketball is big like where I live in the Carolinas. I patron this site because unlike some other blogs it covers Basketball like a first class sport.

I can't believe you guys haven't focused on football this week. It's okay to focus on UM basketball, but let's not forget the #1 sport we're known for! I'm very dissapointed, especially given the big game we're playing this week.

Not entirely true yet. UConn we could play if we beat Southern Miss in the Paradise Jam first round. Given our previous history in non conference games when expectations were high (1998, 1999, 2005) we need to beat the Eagles first before claiming we are going to play UConn.

Not too bad for a starting ranking. I would have been content with anywhere between 15-20. We have the talent to do it, just have to go out and stay there.
