What do you guys want from Shannon? I get it, we all want to win. We all want conference and BCS titles. But what else do you want? We don't have the talent yet. We're getting there.

"He needs to be accountable"...for what? Losing, or for making bad in-game decisions, or more? You guys are grasping at straws. We could have all the talent in the world, dominate the competition, win, and maybe he still makes bad decisions.

Would you still complain then? Probably not, because winning is most important. So, why make such a fuss now knowing we don't have all the horses to compete just yet?

Watch the next 2 yrs, keep quiet until after then. If you're right, great. If not, think about the the previous 2-3 years of complaining.

JLCanes, if you wanted to keep Young, then why don't you and the rest of the T-Shirt fans ante up? Why should it always be on Dr. Shalala to screw over the student body, and the professors in order to make you and your kind happy? I don't hear people saying "Hey, I'm willing to kick in extra to the Hurricane Club, if we can start an account for the football coaching staff"

And, the last time I checked, Dr. Shalala gives a damn..If she didn't, Larry Coker would have still been the HC of this University, and she would have expelled Anthony Reddick and Merriweather after that FIU debacle..No, she took a PR hit, and stuck by our student-athletes. If she didn't care about having a decent athletics department, wouldn't she have done what Tad Foote would have done? Tad Foote would have thrown them under the bus, and not thought twice. She stuck by those two young men, she stuck by this program, and made the move that should have been made in firing Coker, after it became obvious that he wasn't getting talent in the door, and he wasn't even motivating the talent he did manage to get to come to Coral Gables.

“I could not have worked for a finer man than Coach Shannon. It was a privilege to be associated with him and be part of an outstanding staff of coaches. Coach Shannon welcomed me and my family into the program from day one. I don’t think everyone realizes the caliber of kids that play at Miami. Not only are they great athletes but their character is what stands out the most and is something I will remember. The draw to go back home, be near family and coach at my alma mater was just too great to pass up.”

UM should consider firing Shannon to go and hire a real HC with experience. We all know he is a good guy, but has lots to learn to be a good HC. If he decides to run the defense, we will be in deep trouble.

Hey, let's fire Shannon, who is recruiting and refilling the cupboard with damn solid talent, and bring in someone, after most of the candidates have been picked up..Yes, that's really, really logical..Name me a coach that would want to come here to follow Shannon, knowing damn well you will have 2 years max, and you are going to deal with a fanbase that doesn't give money to the program, and thinks you owe their asses something..That's brilliant..There's a reason why Hocutt and Shalala have jobs and most of you people are pumping my gas. That reason is called logic, something most of you don't understand.

It didn't take Bill Young long to figure out Randy Shannon is clueless as a head coach, so he bolted. Doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that out. You can spin it however you want, but that is the reality of it. Lets see how many of these recruits haul @ss on him now.
