Haith isn't getting fired. He got got a new extension after last year. He's here for at least two more years. Not that I'm very happy about it because i agree that this team was horribly coached this year(even though he is a great recruiter and a genuinely nice guy). I've never seen a team made up of mostly juniors and seniors look so lost out on the court. So disappointing. I thought we really had a chance to get to at least the Sweet 16 this year.

The program contrary to the PR and lack of memory of UM fans is in a constant state of decline.

Haith got a huge bounce from the progression of Hite and Diaz in his first season. I think even the harshest of Perry's critics have to admit that Perry would have had a much better season in 2004-05 than he did the previous year.

I give Haith all kinds of credit for the improvement he showed in his first year here -it was a very nice turn-around. But since the program has stagnated and under performed. We had NCAA talent the next year and squandered it with bad coaching and poor decision making. Haith refused to ever call timeouts when the team was shell shocked or gassed, preferring to save his first half use it or lose it for the last possession and all four second half timeouts for the last minute. Time after time the Canes would lose close games and take timeouts home.

Then year three was a disaster. Not on Haith but still a disaster.

Year four, nice run to the NCAAs but lots of unnecessary losses to inferior teams like Winthrop, NC State and Wake, generally because of late game breakdowns.

Year five, a total joke. We ran no offense, showed little heart and blew close game after close game despite the desire of some in the national media to keeping propping us up.

So a five year verdict on Haith? He's an average to below average coach. He's had players like A. Harris, A. King, J. Dews, B. Asbury, etc who have all peaked as sophomores. He hasn't evolved as a game manager through the years and has no clue how to adjust in game. I give him two more years max.

Haith is a horrible, and I mean horrible gameday coach.............................
he never calls timeouts to stop runs..........................
he can never settle his team down and get them into a rhythm
his teams have now underperformed consistently in his five years
diaz wasted
hite wasted
king almost wasted
jack basically wasted as a senior
notice a pattern?
