I have no love for the noles but the plight of FSU exposes the entire bowl system as a bit of a joke. Clemson is lucky to be bowling at all, and to play on new year's day on CBS is really ridiculous.

Agreed. I thought the ACC has set guidelines against teams being jumped in the bowl pecking order. I know the Gator bowl needed to consult with the conference before picking Clemson over FSU so I assume they waived the rules due to the economic hardship of Jacksonville currently. Nonetheless, by waiving it this one time, it now has to be assumed the rules were a joke to begin with and are not going to be enforced in the future.
