Asbury is useless. He seems scared at times to go inside and just hangs out around the three point line. He's solid defensively but I hope Jones emerges quickly and takes his minutes.

Asbury is far from useless but also not reaching the lofty hopes we had for him as a top 100 recruit nationally. He's timid on offense agreed, but he's our best man to man defender and he also gets a lot of defensive rebounds for a 6'6'' guy.

From everything I have read this kid is going to be something. He'll give us the explosiveness going to the basket we haven't had since Rob Hite and he is several inches taller than Hite and thus won't be such a bad matchup defensively.

Too much is being put on this kid in the local media and on the message boards.

Last year we got to the NCAAs with tough D and real grit. Hopefully he busy into that instead of thinking he is bigger and better than the team because he had 5 stars from Rivals. Remember Reo Logan and Alex Fraser? They were top fifty national recruits also.

Jones isn't going to play much. Trust me, Brian Asbury who I know personally is going to step it up this year.
