Worst thing since the probation years? Are you crazy? We're talking about at best a very talented, but raw, reckless and undisciplined QB who has been in the system for two years. We're not talking about Vinny Testeverde or Jim Kelly here.

Yea, now the other thing I am hearing is this kid from houston "Highsmith" is a kid that is really going under the radar. He is a heck of a player. A great athelete but really a very good quarterback. Tee Martin said he was the best quarterback at his camp in atlanta and they had some really good prospects there.

I can understand Marve being suspended for the game, but to suspend him from practice too? That's a little much. Randy probably should have made him stay there, work his but of, run the scout team, and remind him everyday about the mistake he made in the classroom, and make him group up from it and never make that mistake again. Letting him go home is a big mistake I think.

Shannon's lack of management skills is showing. If you want to suspend the guy why do you wait until now? Classes ended over 3 weeks ago. It finals week for crying out loud. So you wait for 3 weeks to announce that you are suspending the Kid. same way you did at the beginning of the season. Its obvious Shannon doesn't want this kid to stay but he cant come out and publicly do it. Marve will transfer to either USF or UF. Shannon will try to fight it and it will get really ugly. Mark my words, If Shannon doesn't win 9 games next year he will get fired. Once Charlie Strong get a head Coaching Job, Shannon will lose the leverage he has with South Florida families. many support him because he is the only Black coach at a FBS school. Once Charlie Strong get a job, families will send their kid to the smarter coach-Strong.

People, Marve just ain't the kid for the offense. I can see myself as Nix, telling guys to run posts, flag routes, flares, and then watch the qb leave the pocket for unknown reasons and wonder why the play broke down. That gets you fired.
If Marve was a Kosar, with some brilliant mind independent of your scheme, you put with it. But he is not. He is what he is. Limited, slightly functional, but no where near a team concept when he runs the plays.
Nix may end up looking a whole lot better in this bowl game without Marve than he has looked all season with Marve.

Gotta love the total ignorance of our "fanbase"...How do you prove that Marve has been the superior QB this year? I'm waiting..He has a worse TD:Int ratio, his offense looks to be far worse in the redzone than Jacory(For Proof, look at Jacory's numbers in the redzone, and compare them to Marve's), and look at the fact that he struggled against UVA, and Duke, and without Harris we are 5-7 right now, because Marve was godawful in those games..We should have most likely lost the UCF game, because he gave them multiple shots to beat us with turnovers, and he gave them a TD for crying out loud on arguably the worst pass of the season..So, let's recap. He beat on a godawful TAMU squad, beat Wake, and couldn't close out VTech...You morons can point to Nix all you want, but to anyone with two eyes, you could see that with a QB that wasn't completely lost in the redzone, that game would have been 30-14 or worse, merely because Marve is a one read QB..I love how our fanbase loves to use stats, until it doesn't benefit their inept theories, then they want to go to something completely different.
And, to ShannonSucks..You don't know when Marve was told about his suspension, we just heard about it yesterday..It's just like his previous suspension, he was told about it the year before, that he was going to sit out a game in which he was going to play in, IE the first game of the season. I know it's shocking, but some coaches like to investigate before they suspend players, and especially in this case, when you had a BS excuse, you want to check it out..I love it how Coach Shannon's color plays a role in recruiting, if that was so damn true, why is it that our our Northwestern guys didn't go to UDub or Miss. State? They had black coaches last year too, and are FBS teams..Oh, that's right, because Coach Shannon out recruited everyone for those players, and a lot of them are developing nicely under his staff(Spence, Forston, Collier, etc.)...But, it's mismanagement because Shannon isn't broadcasting what he does with his program to the morons that populate this city. Sometimes I really wonder if logic exists in Miami, or do they have to import people from other states in order for it to exist.

Competition will be very good and Highsmith will also be a part of the battle. Obviously, he would be a long shot but this kid has a lot of buzz around him. Marve is going to be pushed unlike anyone has been pushed before. He needs to straighten up and fly right very fast to keep that spot. Most think at the rate they are going now, Jacory is on pace to overtake that spot. Maybe Marve sees Highsmith coming and Jacory over taking him and is ready to throw in the towel. Even if he was able to go to USF, Grothe has done very well there and he may have a lot to live up to. We won't release him to USF anyhow. The best bet for him is to transfer to a 1AA school.

Marve was never going to be the man. Randy can't let the Miami Recruits think that Jacory was hosed. Marve is the better qb but was never given a full opportunity.
Has anyone else ever noticed that the guys seem to play harder for Jacory? They make the tough catches for him.
Randy, Nix and A. Hill see this and they realized they have to get rid of Marve.

Couple things...I read somewhere some comments re RM and NFL potential...he is 2 yrs removed from HS...he is avery average QB with a good arm...not even good...yet..lets hold off on that...long way from Plant to the NFL 5-7 to 7-5 to 7-5 to 7-5 to 7-5...you get it...we will not progress past average until we get a good line coach...ours is lacking..and we will not return to the top until we get a real O line...cannot happen no matter if you get 20 Bryce Browns or Mike James..we need to get after recruiting OL...Morgan Moses told me that Nix...and Shannon are too passive in their FB philosophy....he said he finds it hard to believe they want to play in the big time....they now seem content with losing to FL, OK, LSU, GT and the big teams and want to beat up on Duke, Charleston, FIU, and other small teams....sad coming from an 18 year old big time recruit....what could I say to the kid if he sees it that way...

If Marve wanted to play in this game he could and if he is thinking of a transfer this could be his last game in quite a while. There seems to be a pattern here, he gets into trouble before the season and then at the end of the season. No way UM is holding him out because he might transfer, they monitor classes and he knows it but was still late.
Miami needs Marve to stay and he would be dumb to transfer. JC will not hold up over 12 games. First good hit he took all year and was injured. All it takes is for Marve to step in and play well then its his job. I doubt Randy wants to rotate QBs next year so winner in spring plays until an injury or a bad loss.
Biggest issues this year were QBs and LBs. What if we had solid QB play for one guy all year, what if we had LBs who could stop the run and cover short passing game.
I like Marve but if JC starts and wins this game he is the starter moving forward. My guess is that this kid is a winner and he will win another start.
